The Springs Valley girls’ golf team traveled to Country Oaks Golf Club, wrapping up its season by competing in the 2023 Washington Regional. The Blackhawks logged a team score of 421 to finish 12th out of the 15 teams in attendance, defeating Terre Haute North, Parke Heritage, and Southridge. Bedford North Lawrence won the team title with a score of 332. Mia Cruz led the way for Springs Valley, posting the program’s lowest regional score since Keisha Bennett’s 82 in 2019. Cruz finished with a 90 in the final round of her high-school career, continuing to improve on her scores in previous years. As a junior, she recorded a 92 at regional. As a sophomore she recorded a 104. Karmen Hall also had a solid day at Country Oaks, finishing with a score of 97. That was an impressive 20 strokes lower than her 2022 score at the same event. Dallas Hendrix carded a 110 on Saturday and Myla Harrison had a 124.
