It took some time for the Springs Valley football team to get going on Friday night, but once it did, it couldn't be stopped. The Blackhawks trailed West Washington 7-0 after the first quarter in their road trip to Campbellsburg, but that deficit didn't survive the second quarter. By halftime, the 'Hawks led 22-7. By the end of the game, they'd won 46-7. Larron Childers had his fingerprints all over the win, toting the rock 12 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns. The senior also had 10 tackles including 0.5 for a loss. Konner Chase was a huge figure as well, not only carrying the ball 14 times for 110 yards and a touchdown, but intercepting a pair of passes for another pair of touchdowns. Christian Hamilton had eight carries for 64 yards and also scored on a 93-yard kickoff return. Kayce Jones was active in the trenches with 13 tackles including 2.5 for a loss. Augie Purkhiser had 12 tackles. Jonas Hammond had six tackles including two for a loss. Springs Valley (3-1, 2-1 PLAC) will return to action next week at Salem.
