The Springs Valley football team continued rolling on Friday, taking down potential sectional foe Tecumseh 68-7. It was big play after big play for the Blackhawks against the Braves as they averaged nearly 20 yards per carry. Larron Childers was the biggest part of that, carrying the ball four times for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Christian Hamilton carried the ball five times for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Konner Chase carried the ball eight times for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Blake Buchanan carried the ball three times for 53 yards and a touchdown. The Blackhawks also had a strong outing defensively, led by Keaton Pritchett. The senior set the tone with a pick six on Tecumseh's first drive, then picked off another pass and recovered a fumble over the rest of the game. He also had a tackle. Xander Cook and Kayce Jones each had a sack. Jaheim Hamilton recovered a fumble for a touchdown and Konner Chase forced a fumble. Springs Valley (6-1, 3-1 PLAC) will try to extend its winning streak to five games next week when it hosts Perry Central to close out conference play.
