Springs Valley's volleyball team made a statement on Tuesday night, hosting Class 3A No. 10 Barr-Reeve not just beating the Vikings, but sweeping them 28-26, 25-22, 25-13. The victory is the Blackhawks' first over Barr-Reeve since 2004 and just one of a handful in program history. Bella Nottger was on fire against the Vikings, contributing in a multitude of ways. The senior racked up 12 kills on 27 attempts and had a pair of blocks, but she also got it done in the back row. She had 19 serve receptions without a single error and also tallied four aces on 14/17 serving. Springs Valley (14-1, 2-0 PLAC) has now won 14 matches in a row and is ranked third in Class 1A by IndianaPrepVolleyball.com. The Blackhawks will try to keep their streak going on Wednesday when they host South Central (Elizabeth) at The Hawk's Nest.
