Valley volleyball pounds Paoli on the road

The Springs Valley volleyball team clinched a share of its ninth consecutive Patoka Lake Athletic Conference championship on Thursday, traveling to Paoli and beating the rival Rams 25-23, 25-13, 25-18. Maddie Carnes was the hero once again for the Blackhawks, stacking up 17 kills on 33 attempts with just one error, giving her a superb hitting percentage of .485 for the match. The sophomore also had 12 assists, seven digs, a block, and one ace on 8/9 serving. Tori McCormick was also strong at the service line, tallying three aces on 19/20 serving while winning a team-high 14 points. She also had a kill, a block, and four digs. Springs Valley (24-3, 5-0 PLAC) will now head into the final week of its season, traveling to Salem on Tuesday, then hosting Perry Central for its regular-season finale two days later.
