The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association released its All-State teams on Tuesday, including a pair of Blackhawks in its honorees. Leigh Carnes was named a Class 1A First-Team All-State, becoming just the 13th player in program history to earn that honor. The senior was an all-around force for Springs Valley in her final season, racking up 390 kills, 445 assists, 230 digs, and 68 aces. That ace total was one of the highest single-season numbers in program history and allowed Carnes to become the program's career aces leader. Maddie Carnes, Springs Valley's other honoree, was named to the Class 1A All-State Second Team. Only a sophomore, the younger Carnes also produced in an all-around capacity for the Blackhawks. She had 359 kills on 757 attempts and, with only 71 errors, she produced an excellent .380 hitting percentage. She also led the team in assists with 574 and recorded 349 digs, 30 blocks, and 61 aces. Leigh Carnes joins Stephanie Cox, Monica Foxx, Allison Hammond, Jewel McCormick, Bella Nottger, Hannah Pendley, Rebecca Pierce, Caitlyn Reynolds, Erin Stackhouse, Skylar Stephenson, Darcie Warner, and Heather Wilson as First-Team honorees.
