Blackhawk volleyball ousts Bloomfield on the road

The Springs Valley volleyball wasted no time getting ahead when it traveled to Bloomfield on Wednesday, turning a 1-1 tie to a 12-1 lead in the blink of an eye. From there the Blackhawks would go on to win the first set 25-11, then the second 25-13, and the third 25-13 as well to complete the sweep. The Blackhawk attack had teeth against Bloomfield with seven different players picking up a kill. As a team, they posted a strong hitting efficiency and killed nearly half of their total attempts. Bella Nottger led the way in the efficiency department, racking up an impressive 11 kills on 14 attempts. Maddie Carnes was also efficient, killing seven of her 10 swings while also putting up a team-high 20 assists. Leigh Carnes led the way with 13 total kills. Springs Valley shined once again at the service line on Wednesday, using a team effort to bombard Bloomfield into submission. The Blackhawks piled up 19 aces as a team on 73 attempts, committing eight errors in the process. Maddie Carnes and Tynley Kluesner led the way with six each while Leigh Carnes and Molly Tucker also had multiple aces with three and two respectively. The win was the fourth in a row for Springs Valley (6-2, 1-0 PLAC), which has now won 12 straight sets as well. The Blackhawks will return to play on Saturday, hosting a tournament with the likes of Linton, Edgewood and Forest Park coming to town to compete.
