Valley boys fall to Class 1A No. 2 Loogootee

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team fell to Loogootee on Saturday, losing 70-39. The Blackhawks were behind the ball quickly, trailing 19-8 after one quarter, and could never catch up. They trailed 37-14 at halftime, then 57-27 heading into the fourth quarter. Konner Chase did the bulk of the scoring for Springs Valley, putting up 18 points in an efficient manner. He hit seven of 12 shots from the field and three of his six 3-pointers. He also had a rebound, an assist, and two steals. Deion Edwards was Valley's other double-digit scorer, going for 12 points with eight rebounds and two assists. Christian Hamilton had five points, two rebounds, and an assist. Larron Childers had two points, two rebounds, and two steals. Keyton Jones had two points, four assists, and a steal. James Walls had two rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block. Mavrick Land had three rebounds. Evan Brown had two rebounds. Easton Burton and Landon Weeks had one rebound each. Springs Valley (3-4, 1-2 PLAC) will try to bounce back on Wednesday when it hosts South Spencer.
