Valley girls take down Tell City on senior night

The Springs Valley girls’ basketball team hosted Tell City on Tuesday, winning 47-31. The Blackhawks fought closely with Tell City, leading by six points at the end of the first half. With a strong push during the last quarter, the ‘Hawks scored 17 points compared to Tell City’s four. Furthermore, the ‘Hawks had 24 points in the paint compared to the Marksmen’s 12. The duo of Maddie Carnes and Maci Eckerty led the way in points, scoring 16 and 14 points respectively. Carnes also had five rebounds and two assists. Eckerty had six assists and two steals. Gracie Allstott had 12 points, all from 3-pointers. Rounding things out for the ‘Hawks: Tori McCormick had two points and three rebounds, Gracie Breedlove had one point and two rebounds, Josie Robison had one rebound, Leigh Carnes had two points and six rebounds, and Jordyn Land had two rebounds. Springs Valley (20-3, PLAC 5-1), will be back in action against the second-ranked Braves at Borden on Thursday for their last regular-season game.
