Balanced attack leads Blackhawk volleyball to win at Southridge

The Springs Valley volleyball team continued its hot streak on Thursday, traveling to Southridge and beating the Raiders 25-13, 25-16, 25-15. The Blackhawks were the beneficiaries of a very balanced offensive effort on Thursday and it propelled them to the win. Alayna Denbo led the way with nine kills, Maddie Carnes had eight, Leigh Carnes and Tynley Kluesner each had seven, Bella Nottger had five and Brynne Buchanan had three. Leigh Carnes led the team in assists with 22, Maddie Carnes had 15 and Molly Tucker had 1. Springs Valley's defensive effort was led by Leigh Carnes, who had 13 kills. Buchanan, Tucker and Kluesner each had 10 digs, Maddie Carnes had seven and Miya Campbell had two. Denbo had two blocks and Kluesner had one. The Blackhawks also racked up 11 aces as a team at Southridge. The Carnes sisters had three each, Kluesner had two, and the trio of Buchanan, Nottger and Tucker each had one. Springs Valley (12-2, 2-0 PLAC) will try to win an 11th-straight match on Saturday when it hosts Rock Creek Academy.
