The Springs Valley cross country team continued its strong season on Saturday, traveling to Lincoln City to compete in the Heritage Hills Invitational. As they competed against bigger schools like Gibson Southern, Pike Central and Heritage Hills, the Blackhawks were able to find plenty of success. Nine new personal records highlighted the event for Springs Valley including six from its boys’ team. Grant Brown and Alan Marshall led the way, placing third and fourth respectively. Carson Brown wasn’t far behind them in ninth place with a PR time of 17:54.2, Max Pendley PR’d in 29th with a time of 19:32.2, and Harold and Henry Dybsetter each set new PRs with times of 25:20.3 and 27:14.6 respectively. Owen Weisensteiner placed 49th with a time of 20:53.7. Keira Lynch was out front for the girls’ team, racing her way to a 17th-place finish and a new personal record with a time of 23:55.9.
