Blackhawk boys win, girls place second at Mitchell

The Springs Valley boys’ and girls’ track team traveled to Mitchell on Tuesday to go up against the Bluejackets and the Paoli Rams. The boys won every event except the 100-meter dash and the high jump. Christian Hamilton won the long jump and was a part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team with James Walls, Graham Nottger, and Jaheim Hamilton. Jaheim Hamilton won the 110-meter hurdles, the 200-meter dash, and was a part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team also consisting of Nottger, Carson Brown, and Evan Baker. Nottger also won the 300-meter hurdles. Larron Childers won both the shotput and discus. Isaiah Ervin won the 400-meter, 800-meter, and was a part of the winning 4x800-meter relay team alongside Anakin Keyamo, Andre Ayres, and Harry Dybsetter. Ayres won the 1600-meter. Brown won the 3200-meter. On the girls’ side, Tori McCormick won the high jump. Kinsey Saliba won the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. Saliba was a part of the winning 4x100-meter relay team with Miya Campbell, Macie Mayhew, and Gracie Breedlove. Breedlove also won the 200-meter. Campbell also got second in both the 100-meter, 200-meter, and long jump. Sophie Harris finished second in the 1600-meter. The boys won the meet with 99 points. Mitchell had 49 and Paoli had eight. The girls placed second with 57 points. Mitchell won with 74 points and Paoli had 24. The ‘Hawks will be back in action on Thursday at Bedford North Lawrence against BNL, Eastern Greene, and Mitchell.
