After a nearly week-long break, the Springs Valley volleyball team returned to play on Monday with a trip to Orleans. Just about everything went to plan for the Blackhawks as they walked away with a 25-11, 25-7, 25-8 victory. Their serving was fearsome, as they racked up 14 aces with just six errors on 74 attempts. Brynne Buchanan led the way in that regard with six aces and no errors on 13 attempts. Leigh Carnes and Bella Nottger had three aces apiece and Maddie Carnes and Tynley Kluesner each had one ace. Offensively the Blackhawks were well balanced as six different players had at least four kills. Kluesner led the team with nine while Leigh Carnes had eight, Nottger had six, Buchanan and Alayna Denbo had five, and Maddie Carnes had four. Maddie Carnes was the Blackhawks' primary setter, racking up 30 assists. Defensively Leigh Carnes led Springs Valley with five digs. She was followed by Buchanan with four, Maddie Carnes and Molly Tucker with three each, and the trio of Kluesner, Nottger, and Kenzie Harrell with two each. Denbo and Maddie Carnes each had four blocks. Leigh Carnes and Nottger had one. Springs Valley (14-3, 3-0) will be back in action on Tuesday, traveling to Northeast Dubois.
