Blackhawks sweep the Jeeps for seventh straight victory over NE Dubois

The Springs Valley volleyball team was on the road again on Tuesday, traveling to Northeast Dubois to take on the Jeeps. The Blackhawks' trip would be a fruitful one as they took down their rival in straight sets, winning 25-21, 25-16, 25-13. Leigh Carnes led the way for Springs Valley in attack, putting up a team-high 11 kills. Bella Nottger, Brynne Buchanan, and Tynley Kluesner were also key hitters, recording eight, seven, and six kills respectively. Maddie Carnes was at the controls of the Valley attack for much of the night, finishing with 23 assists, and also led the team in digs with nine. Other defensive contributors were Buchanan, Molly Tucker, Leigh Carnes and Kluesner with six, five, four and four digs each. The Blackhawks also tallied 10 aces in the match as a team, led by three from each of Leigh Carnes and Kluesner. Tucker had two aces, Buchanan had one, and Kenzie Harrell also had one. Springs Valley (15-3, 3-0 PLAC) will try to pick up a third win in a row on Thursday when it hosts conference foe Mitchell for its annual "Jam the Gym" match.
