Blackhawk Track excels at Sam Sumner Invitational

On Saturday the Springs Valley track team traveled to Borden to compete in the Sam Sumner Invitational. For the girls, Miya Campbell finished first in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Campbell also placed first in long jump. In the 100 meter dash Gracie Breedlove finished in seventh place and in the 200 meter dash she placed second. Kinsey Saliba finished first in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Olivia Allen placed third in the 100 meter hurdles. In the 300 meter hurdles Macie Mayhew placed third. Tori McCormick tied for first in high jump. Springs Valley finished first in the girls’ 4x100 meter relay with a time of 54.43. Out of the boys, Christian Hamilton placed first in long jump with Jaheim Hamilton placing second. In high jump James Walls and Dane Harris placed third. For shot put Larron Childers placed first with Teagun Rominger placing fifth. Childers also won the discus breaking his own school record. In the 100 meter hurdles Jaheim Hamilton placed first with Walls placing third. Jaheim Hamilton also won the 300 meter hurdles with Graham Nottger placing third fifth. Christian Hamilton finished first in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. In the 200 meter dash Isaiah Ervin placed fifth. Ervin placed second in the 400 meter run with Ian Robbins placing second. Alan Marshall placed first in the 800 meter Carson Brown finished first in the 1600 meter run with Marshall finishing second. Carson Brown also finished first in the 3200 meter dash with Grant Brown Finishing third. Walls, Konner Chase, Christian Hamilton, and Jaheim Hamilton won the 4x100. Anakin Keyamo, Carson Brown, Grant Brown, and Marshall placed first in the 4x800. Keyamo, Nottger, Marshall, and Ervin finished third in the 4x400. The Blackhawks next track meet will be on Tuesday for the freshman and sophomores. The meet will begin at 6:00 P.M. at Northeast Dubois.
