Blackhawk boys, girls both place third at Freshman-Sophomore Meet

The Springs Valley boys’ and girls’ track team traveled to Northeast Dubois to compete in the freshmen and sophomore meet against Dubois, Tell City, Southridge, and Pike Central. For the boys, Graham Nottger won the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.35 and Alexander Combs got third. Nottger also got first in the 300m hurdles and Combs got third. Anakin Keyamo got third in the 400m. Matthew Woolsey got third in the 3200m. The 4x800m relay team of Dane Harris, Keaton Thacker, Keyamo, and Woolsey got second place. For the girls, Gracie Breedlove got second in the 100m dash and first in the 200m dash with a time of 13.56 and 28.89 respectively. Addi Moffat got third in 800m. Kinsey Saliba won the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.76. Saliba also won the 300m hurdles with a time of 53.33. The 4x100m relay team of Lola Kovas, Olivia Allen, Saliba, and Breedlove got third place. Jordyn Land won the shot put with a throw of 30’ 2”. The boys placed third as a team with 100.5 points. Tell City won with 165.5 points and Northeast Dubois came in second with 150 points. The girls placed third as well, scoring 92 points. Tell City won with 176 points and Pike Central came in second place with 104.33 points. The Blackhawks will be back in action on Thursday at Tell City against Perry Central and Tell City.
