Running 'Hawks compete at Cardinal Invitational

The Springs Valley cross country team traveled to Bloomfield on Saturday for the Cardinal Invitational. It was a successful outing for the Blackhawks as they boys finished second as a team and the girls finished third. Carson Brown didn't just set the pace for Springs Valley, he did so for the whole field. The senior won the individual title with a blazing time of 17:10, nearly two minutes faster than the second-place finisher. Henry Dybsetter followed in ninth place, Andre Ayres placed 13th, Harry Dybsetter placed 14th, and Matthew Woolsey finished 21st. Keaton Thacker set a new course personal record in the event. The Blackhawks also got personal-record performances from Hunter Thomas and Jimmy Curry. Belle Roberts paced the girls once again, placing ninth with a time of 25:47. Sophie Harris followed, placing 11th. Addi Moffatt finished 14th, Jadyn Lynch was 22nd, and Keira Lynch placed 25th. Loran Rayls rounded things out with a 27th-place performance. Springs Valley will run again on Tuesday, traveling to Southridge for the Raider Invitational.
