Blackhawk volleyball ousts West Washington in straight sets

The Springs Valley volleyball team continued its winning streak on Tuesday, sweeping West Washington 25-23, 25-15, 25-18 to make it seven victories in a row. Maddie Carnes had a standout performance in the win. The junior racked up 30 assists, 12 kills, 10 digs, and four blocks. Kinsey Saliba joined her classmate in leading the charge with 14 kills and seven digs. Springs Valley also got strong contributions from its freshmen. Emmy Saliba led the team with three aces. She also had eight kills, three blocks, and six digs. Mia Crews compiled 10 digs, five kills, and an ace. Springs Valley (9-1, 2-0 PLAC) will play again on Thursday when it travels to Southridge.
