The Springs Valley volleyball team fell on the road on Tuesday, losing 25-11, 25-8, 27-25 to Barr-Reeve. The Blackhawks' slow start without junior setter Maddie Carnes doomed them, but they showed plenty of promise in their late rally. Kyan Green stepped into the setter role with Carnes out, leading the team with nine assists. The junior also had three digs. Kinsey Saliba led the attack once again, this time with 11 kills. She also had two digs and an ace. Peyton Sutton recorded two digs in her varsity debut and Maci Eckerty rounded out the junior class' production with a team-high 12 digs. Mia Crews was the only Blackhawk outside Saliba to have an ace. The freshman also had three kills and five digs. Her classmate Emmy Saliba had three kills and four digs. Springs Valley (11-2, 2-0 PLAC) lost its nine-match winning streak with the result. The Blackhawks will try to start a new streak on Wednesday when they travel to South Central (Elizabeth).
