Springs Valley cross country sweeps Orange County Meet

The Springs Valley cross country team traveled to Orleans on Tuesday to compete in the Orange County Meet. It was a successful trip for the Blackhawks as they swept both team and individual championships. The boys cleared county rival Orleans by nine points to take the title. Carson Brown ran excellently, earning the individual championship with a time of 17:01. Henry Dybsetter finished third with a personal-record time of 18:08. Andre Ayres finished fourth, Harry Dybsetter finished seventh, and Dane Harris finished eighth all with season-best times. The Blackhawks also got a new personal record from Conner Cummings. The girls won by a larger margin, outpacing Orleans by 20 points to take the crown. Belle Roberts put in the best performance of her freshman season to become the new individual champion, running a personal-record time of 22:43. Sophie Harris placed second, Jadyn Lynch finished third, Addi Moffatt was sixth, Keira Lynch finished seventh, and Loran Rayls finished eighth. Rayls set a new personal record with a time of 27:01. The Blackhawks will try to ride the momentum they've built into Crawford County on Saturday morning.
