Valley cross country competes at Jasper Invitational

The Springs Valley cross country team competed at the Jasper Invitational on Saturday; the boys and girls teams both finished eighth. Carson Brown continued his fantastic senior season with a fourth-place finish in a field loaded with runners from big schools across Southern Indiana. He set a new course personal record at 16:34 as well. Henry Dybsetter finished 49th, Andre Ayres finished 66th, Harry Dybsetter finished 76th, and Dane Harris finished 82nd. Outside of the scorers the Blackhawks also got a personal record from Jaydon Novak, who recorded a time of 26:21. Belle Roberts was the girls' top finisher in 36th place with a time of 23:05. Sophie Harris was right behind her in 37th, Jadyn Lynch improved her 2023 time at the Jasper Invitational by four minutes to place 41st, and Addi Moffatt finished 66th. Loran Rayls rounded out the event for the 'Hawks in 111th. Springs Valley will now take a break from competition to prepare for the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference Meet on Saturday, Oct. 12.
