Blackhawk volleyball clinches 10th consecutive PLAC championship with sweep of Paoli

The Springs Valley volleyball team hosted Orange County rival Paoli on Thursday, sweeping the Rams 25-16, 25-6, 25-7. The Blackhawks were on fire from the service line, racking up 23 aces as a team. Their serving percentage was 90.5 percent and they aced the Rams on nearly one of every three serves. Kyan Green led the way with a career-high 11 aces on 20 attempts. Mia Crews and Kinsey Saliba had four aces each. Saliba led the Blackhawks in attack with 13 kills on only 16 attempts for an incredible 75 percent hitting percentage. Maci Eckerty had six digs. Maddie Carnes had 22 assists. Springs Valley (21-4, 5-0 PLAC) clinched a share of the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference championship. This is the tenth year in a row in which the Blackhawks have topped the conference and the 27th time ever. They'll try to clinch the title outright next Thursday when they travel to Perry Central, but before that they'll host Salem for their final home match of the season on Tuesday.
