Springs Valley stumbles at Class 1A No. 9 Northeast Dubois

The Springs Valley girls’ basketball team hit the road on Thursday night for a matchup with Class 1A No. 9 Northeast Dubois. The Blackhawks fell to their rival 47-19. Springs Valley was sunk by its offensive struggles, scoring only two points in the first half. After the break however the Blackhawks were able to produce on that end of the floor. Maci Eckerty led the way with eight points. She also had three rebounds and two steals. Maddie Carnes finished with five points, adding in three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks as well. Macy Hall scored three points, Tori McCormick scored two points, and freshman Jordyn Land made her varsity debut in the game, scoring her first varsity point on a free throw and leading the team in rebounds with four. Springs Valley (4-4, 1-0 PLAC) will be back in action on Tuesday, taking on Orange County rival Orleans.
