Valley volleyball falls to Perry Central in regular-season finale

The Springs Valley volleyball team traveled to Perry Central on Thursday, losing 26-24, 16-25, 25-14, 25-19, 16-14. The Blackhawk attack was led by Kinsey Saliba who had 17 kills. Maddie Carnes had 10 kills, led the team with 37 assists, and recorded 21 digs. Maci Eckerty had 29 digs and made 22 passes on serve receive. Despite the loss, Springs Valley (22-5, 5-1 PLAC) finishes as co-champions of the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference with Perry Central. The conference loss was the first for the Blackhawks in more than 10 years. Springs Valley's PLAC winning streak spanned 59 matches and 3,654 days, resulting in 10 consecutive conference championships including nine outright titles. At the time of Springs Valley's last PLAC loss, the current junior class was in first grade. The Blackhawks will return to action when they compete at the Wood Memorial Sectional on Saturday, Oct. 19.
