Blackhawk football pounds Perry Central in PLAC finale

The Springs Valley football team traveled to Perry Central on Friday, defeating the Commodores 42-0. The Blackhawks started hot, leading 21-0 after one quarter, then took a 35-0 lead into halftime. A third-quarter touchdown was the finishing touch on the victory. Christian Hamilton continued his historic season, carrying the ball 11 times for 182 yards and four touchdowns. Blake Buchanan completed two of his three pass attempts, both to James Walls, for 54 yards and a touchdown. Augie Purkhiser led the Blackhawk defense with nine tackles. Kayce Jones had seven including two for a loss and recovered a fumble. Teagun Rominger also had two tackles for a loss and Parker Chaplin got his first sack of the season. Springs Valley (7-1, 4-1 PLAC) has now won five consecutive games including three straight shutout efforts, finishing second in the conference thanks to their victory over the Commodores. The Blackhawks will close out their regular season next week when they host North Daviess for senior night.
