Springs Valley takes non-conference win over Washington Catholic

The Springs Valley boys' basketball program bounced back in a big way on Saturday, blowing out Sectional 63 foe Washington Catholic 60-26 a day after falling short against Orleans. Three different Blackhawks scored in double-digits against the Cardinals as Deion Edwards, Jaheim Hamilton, and Keaton Pritchett combined to hit 17 of their 29 shots from the field on the way to 16, 14, and 10 points respectively. Hamilton had a particularly good game, also grabbing eight rebounds while tallying three assists and three steals as well. Max Pendley had a season-high in minutes against Washington Catholic and made the most of it, going for six points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Other scorers included Kayce Jones with four points, Konner Chase and Larron Childers with three each, and Evan Brown and Christian Hamilton with two each. Jones and Christian Hamilton both scored their first varsity points in the game. Springs Valley (2-1, 1-1 PLAC) will be back in action on Friday, traveling to Barr-Reeve to take on yet another Sectional 63 opponent. On Saturday, the Blackhawks will host Lanesville.
