Springs Valley volleyball closes season at Jasper Semi-State

The Springs Valley volleyball team traveled to the Jasper Semi-State on Saturday, falling 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 to Class 1A No. 1 Trinity Lutheran. Maci Eckerty was a bright spot for the Blackhawks in the loss. The libero was busy against the Cougars, compiling a team-high 14 digs and passing 12 balls on serve receive. She also led the team in aces with two. Kinsey Saliba led the team in kills with eight and had eight digs. Maddie Carnes had 14 assists, seven digs, and five kills. Springs Valley (25-6, 5-1 PLAC) saw its season come to an end with the loss. The Blackhawks not only won the program's first regional championship in 25 years this year, they also recorded their 12th consecutive 20-win season, won the 20th sectional championship in program history and their fifth in the last six years, and won a 10th consecutive conference championship. With no seniors on this year's roster, each and every member of this regional championship squad will return next fall with expectations of competing for the state championship once again.
