The All-Patoka Lake Athletic Conference football team was announced on Wednesday night. Springs Valley, the second-place finisher in league play, tied for the most players selected to the team with eight as five seniors — Christian Hamilton, Kayce Jones, Graden McGee, Teagun Rominger, and James Walls — and three juniors — Keyton Jones, Ethan Parker, and Augie Purkhiser — all made the cut. Hamilton and Walls were the Blackhawks' most explosive offensive weapons in 2024. Hamilton had a historic season, rushing for 2,057 yards and 31 touchdowns on 145 carries. Walls was one of the conference's top receivers, hauling in 22 catches for 572 yards and nine touchdowns. McGee had a historic season as well. He set a new school record for kicking points in a single season with 62, also setting a record for consecutive extra points made. He knocked in 62 of his 70 attempts including 10 in a single game against Crawford County. He also had a pair of touchbacks. Kayce Jones was a monster along the defensive line. He led Springs Valley with 91 tackles. He also had a team-high 25 tackles for a loss and five sacks. He had five quarterback hurries, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble. Rominger and Parker were crucial parts of the offensive line that paved the way for Hamilton and the rest of the Springs Valley rushing attack to run for 3,269 yards and 55 touchdowns. The Blackhawks averaged nearly 10 yards per carry and eight different Blackhawks broke a run of more than 20 yards thanks to the large holes created by the line. Purkhiser was the heart of the Springs Valley defense, making 75 tackles from his position at inside linebacker. He also had six tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, two quarterback hurries, an interception, and a pass deflection. Keyton Jones had a strong season at outside linebacker, making 34 tackles including eight for a loss. He also had a sack and four pass deflections.
