Trio of Blackhawks makes All-PLAC volleyball team

The All-Patoka Lake Athletic Conference volleyball team was announced on Wednesday night and three Springs Valley Blackhawks made the squad. Maddie Carnes was among the conference's best for the third straight year. The junior recorded 669 assists, 271 digs, 221 kills, and 65 aces. She set new career-highs in assists and aces. She also led the conference in hitting percentage (.405) and assists while finishing second in aces. Kinsey Saliba earns All-Conference honors after becoming the focal point of the Blackhawks' attack. As a junior, Saliba racked up 379 kills, 169 digs, 34 aces, and 51 blocks. She was the conference leader in kills, also finishing second in hitting percentage (.275) and third in blocks. Maci Eckerty is also a first-time honoree as a junior. Eckerty took over as Springs Valley's libero early in the season and thrived in that role, recording a team-high 390 digs. She also led the team in serve receptions with 412. She finished second in the conference in digs.
