Blackhawk girls crush Rock Creek Academy on the road

The Springs Valley girls' basketball team traveled to Rock Creek Academy on Saturday, winning 58-18. The Blackhawks took control early, outscoring the Lions 16-2 in the first quarter. They took a 26-7 lead into halftime. From there it was smooth sailing as they outscored their opposition 32-11 in the second half. Gracie Breedlove continued her run of strong play, going for a career-high 24 points. The sophomore also had six steals, three rebounds, and three assists. Maci Eckerty played excellently as well, recording a double-double with 17 points and 12 steals. She also had three rebounds and four assists. Kynleigh Dalton had six points and eight assists, Jordyn Land had six points and 10 rebounds, Abby Allen scored her first varsity points by hitting a 3-pointer, Josie Robison had two points and six rebounds, Kadee McGuire had two rebounds, Kentli Watts had an assist, and Kenna McNeely had a steal. Springs Valley (3-1) has now won back-to-back games. The Blackhawks will try to make it three in a row on Tuesday when they host Mitchell for their Patoka Lake Athletic Conference opener.
