The Springs Valley girls' basketball team hosted Mitchell on Tuesday, beating the Bluejackets 42-12. The Blackhawks were up 12-2 after one quarter, then went to the half up 20-2. At the start of the fourth quarter the 'Hawks led 39-6. They were outscored 6-4 in the game's closing period, but the lead they'd built by that point was more than enough to survive that. Maci Eckerty led the way, pouring in 15 points while also grabbing five rebounds. The junior hit all six of her free throws. Gracie Breedlove has 12 points and six rebounds. Jordyn Land nearly posted a double-double, putting up eight points and 10 rebounds. Kynleigh Dalton had three points, three assists, and three steals. Josie Robison had two points and four rebounds. Kadee McGuire had two points and three rebounds. Kenna McNeely scored her first varsity point, finishing with one, while also grabbing a rebound and two steals. Springs Valley (4-1, 1-0 PLAC) has now won three consecutive games. The Blackhawks will try to make it four next Tuesday when they host Barr-Reeve.
