The Springs Valley boys' basketball team needed every last second of game time to take down Perry Central on Friday, but managed to do just that. Chaos ensued in Leopold just after the buzzer with the Blackhawks swarming around sophomore forward Deion Edwards, whose pull-up 28-footer gave them a 61-60 lead over their Patoka Lake Athletic Conference foe. Those game-winning points were the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of evening for Edwards and, more impressively, his 14th, 15th, and 16th of the fourth quarter. With the Blackhawks trailing 47-35 with just eight minutes remaining, Edwards led one last push that would win them the game. They outscored Perry Central 26-13 in the final quarter in a scene that resembled the final period of Springs Valley's opening-night comeback against Mitchell. Springs Valley (4-2, 2-1 PLAC) will continue their weekend on Saturday with a trip to Loogootee to take on the Class 1A No. 4 Lions, a Sectional 63 rival.
