Springs Valley boys drop county rivalry game to Orleans

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team hosted Orleans on Friday, losing 59-41. The Blackhawks fell behind early, trailing 18-11 after the first quarter, and that set the tone for the night. The Orleans' lead was 30-21 at halftime, then the Bulldogs stretched it to 46-30 after the third quarter. Orleans outscored Springs Valley 13-11 in the final quarter of play. Christian Hamilton led the Blackhawks with 12 points and did so efficiently; the senior hit four of his seven shots from the field and all four of his free throws. He also had three rebounds, two assists, and a block. Deion Edwards had nine points and three rebounds. Evan Brown had eight points and four rebounds. Keyton Jones had three points and a rebound. Landon Weeks had three points and four rebounds. Blake Buchanan had two points and two rebounds. Kayce Jones had two points and two rebounds. Zach Lindsay had two points. Springs Valley (0-2, 0-2 PLAC) will try to grab its first win of the season on Saturday when it travels to Evansville Christian.
