Blackhawk boys knock off Evansville Christian in road battle

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team traveled to Evansville Christian on Saturday, winning 50-40. The Blackhawks led 9-8 after one quarter, then took an 18-17 lead into halftime. They took off in the second half, outscoring the Eagled 32-23 to close out the big win. Evan Brown led the 'Hawks with 15 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. The senior hit seven of his 11 shots from the field. Kayce Jones backed him up with 10 points and four rebounds. He was also efficient, hitting five of seven shots. Blake Buchanan had his best night of the season, going for eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Landon Weeks had eight points and eight rebounds. Keyton Jones had seven points, three rebounds, and two steals. Christian Hamilton had two points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. The win is the first of the season for Springs Valley (1-2, 0-2 PLAC). The Blackhawks will try to build on it when they host Lanesville on Saturday, Dec. 14.
