Springs Valley girls' basketball falls to Orleans in Orange County rivalry game

The Springs Valley girls' basketball team hosted Orleans on Tuesday night, losing 68-40. The Bulldogs took an early lead, outscoring the Blackhawks 24-9 in the first quarter, and that set the tone for the night. Springs Valley trailed 40-16 at halftime, then 56-29 at the end of the third quarter. Springs Valley put forth a strong effort in the fourth quarter, but was still outscored 12-11 in the period. Maci Eckerty had a game-high 22 points against the Bulldogs. Jordyn Land had six points. Gracie Breedlove scored five points. Kadee McGuire made five points. Josie Robison had two points. Springs Valley (4-5, 1-1 PLAC) has now lost four games in a row. The Blackhawks will try to bounce back on Dec. 19 when they host Bloomfield.
