Springs Valley drops Holiday Classic game to Charlestown

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team played its final game of the calendar year on Thursday, taking on Charlestown in its second game of the Accelerated Growth Capital Holiday Classic. The Blackhawks fell behind 25-9 by the end of the first quarter and couldn't recover from that start, losing 88-53. James Walls and Keaton Pritchett led Springs Valley in scoring, putting up eight points apiece and Blackhawks' scoring was quite balanced. Mavrick Land, Jaheim Hamilton, Deion Edwards, and Larron Childers all finished with six points, Konner Chase scored five, and Xander Cook put up three. Hamilton and Edwards led in rebounding with seven each, Hamilton and Land led in assists with three each, Edwards' two steals were the most on the team, and Hamilton also had three blocks to lead the team. Springs Valley (4-5, 2-1 PLAC) will be back in action on Jan. 6, traveling to Marengo to take on Crawford County.
