Blackhawk boys drop midweek contest against Tecumseh

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team hosted Tecumseh on Wednesday, losing 69-57. A slow start put the Blackhawks behind the ball as they trailed 21-16 after the first quarter. They played the Braves evenly through the second and third quarters, then made a push to compete for the win in the fourth, but time worked against them and the Braves were able to add onto their lead before the final buzzer. Landon Weeks led the way, scoring 18 points while hitting half of his 12 shots from the field. He also had seven rebounds and four steals. James Walls had his strongest performance of the season offensively, scoring 11 points while gather six rebounds. Keyton Jones had 10 points and a team-high three assists, Evan Brown scored eight points and had 14 rebounds, Garrett Hahn had six points, and Christian Hamilton had four points. Zach Lindsey had a rebound. Springs Valley (4-11, 1-4 PLAC) has now lost four games in a row. The Blackhawks will try to snap the skid on Friday when they travel to Eastern (Pekin).
