Blackhawks toppled at Pekin

The Springs Valley boys’ basketball team hit the road on Friday, traveling to New Pekin to take on the Eastern Musketeers. The Blackhawks were unable to keep up with Eastern, falling 65-45. Deion Edwards led Springs Valley with 15 points while also recording two rebounds and two assists. Other scorers included Larron Childers with six points, Keaton Pritchett and Konner Chase with five points each, Jaheim Hamilton with four points, Christian Hamilton with three points, Xander Cook with two points, and Mavrick Land with one point. Cook was the team’s leading rebounds with five. Chase was the leading assist-getter with four. Pritchett notched the team’s lone block and Max Pendley had a rebound. Springs Valley (5-11) will try to snap its four-game losing streak on Saturday when it travels to Tell City.
