Springs Valley drops bout with White River Valley at The Nest

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team played host to White River Valley on Friday, falling 72-68 in a tight matchup. The Blackhawks got off to a decent start, leading 17-16 after the first quarter, but the second proved to be a different story. In the second quarter, the 'Hawks were outscored 22-9. Trailing 55-37 after the third quarter, they made a valiant comeback attempt with 31 fourth-quarter points, but they weren't able to make up their entire deficit. Deion Edwards and Konner Chase once again led the way for Springs Valley. The former recorded 24 points, three rebounds, four assists, and two steals. The latter finished with a career-high 20 points, doing so on just nine shots from the field. He also had four rebounds and a steal. Christian Hamilton had a big night as well. The sophomore established a new career high in points with nine. Larron Childers put up eight points, Mavrick Land scored three, Keaton Pritchett had two, and Jaheim Hamilton had two. Springs Valley (6-13, 3-3 PLAC) will return to action on Tuesday when it travels to New Washington.
