Blackhawks take down New Washington on the road

The Springs Valley boys' basketball team hit the road on Tuesday, traveling to New Washington to take on the Mustangs. The trip ultimately bore fruit for the Blackhawks as they won 74-60. Deion Edwards had quite the night, recording a new career high in points by scoring 32. He also had 11 rebounds to record his sixth career double-double. Xander Cook, Konner Chase, and Larron Childers scored eight points, Jaheim Hamilton and Mavrick Land scored six, and Max Pendley, Keaton Pritchett, and Christian Hamilton each scored two. Jaheim Hamilton was the Blackhawks' leading rebounder with 12 and also had four blocks, Edwards led the team in assists with five, and Chase and Edwards each had two steals. Springs Valley (7-13, 3-3 PLAC) broke a two-game skid with the victory. The Blackhawks will try to keep their momentum moving forward on Feb. 21 when they take on South Central (Elizabeth).
