Springs Valley softball falls at Perry Central

The Springs Valley softball team opened Patoka Lake Athletic Conference play on Monday evening, traveling to Perry Central and falling 14-1. The Commodores took the lead by scoring two runs in the second inning and never relinquished it. They’d add three in the third, one in the fifth, and finally eight in the sixth to end the game. Springs Valley’s lone run came in the fifth inning following an Emri Allen double. Karson Dalton and Molly Tucker also had one hit each. Ashlyn Bonta, Kaylee McNeely, and Paige Sylvester each drew a walk. Lily Hickman did the pitching for the Blackhawks, tossing five innings. Six of the 14 runs she allowed were earned. She also gave up 10 hits, walked four batters, hit two batters, and struck out three. Springs Valley (1-2, 0-1 PLAC) will try to bounce back from the loss on Wednesday when it hosts Bloomfield.
