The Springs Valley softball team hit the road on Tuesday to take on Class 1A No. 10 Northeast Dubois. The Blackhawks would have a difficult time keeping up with the Jeeps, ultimately falling 21-2. An 11-run second inning set the table for the Jeeps, as they opened their lead up to 13-0 and never looked back. Springs Valley’s lone runs would come in the third inning, one driven in by Lily Hickman and the other driven in by Karson Dalton. Those two each also had one of the Blackhawks’ three hits in the game. Emri Allen had the third. Brynne Buchanan scored a run, as did Allen, and Tynley Kluesner drew a walk. Lola Pantoja was hit by a pitch. Molly Tucker got the ball to start the game in the circle for the Blackhawks. She pitched two innings, allowing 13 runs, all earned, on 15 hits and three walks. Hickman relieved her, pitching two innings herself. She allowed eight runs, all unearned, on three hits, two walks, and two hit batters. She struck out two. Springs Valley (2-4, 1-1 PLAC) will try to bounce back on Thursday when it hosts conference rival West Washington.
