Valley golf finishes 10th at Washington Hatchet Invite

The Springs Valley boys’ golf team competed against the best of the best in Southern Indiana on Saturday, traveling to Country Oaks Golf Course to compete in the Washington Hatchet Invite. The Blackhawks left the event knowing that they could have performed better, but their team score of 366 was still strong enough to finish 10th in the 17-team field. Blake Albright continued his upward swing on Saturday, coming in with a team-low score of 84. Owen Weisensteiner followed him closely, carding an 88 for the round. Jake Hammond shot a 93, Ryker Allen shot a 101, and Jack Dalton rounded things out with a 102. Bloomington South was the champion, finishing with a team score of 297. A trio of individuals including South’s Happy Gilmore tied for the top solo score at 72. Springs Valley (24-13) will continue its season on Tuesday, competing with Orleans and Forest Park at Christmas Lake Golf Club.
