Springs Valley softball slams Eastern Greene on the road

It was all gas, no brakes for the Springs Valley softball team as it traveled to Eastern Greene on Friday night. The Blackhawks took the lead in the top of the first and never looked back, going on to win 9-3. Lily Hickman continued her run of dominance, going 4-4 at the plate with two doubles, two home runs, and four runs batted in. She complemented her monstrous performance at the plate by getting the win in the circle, pitching all seven innings and allowing just one earned run on one hit and two walks. She struck out 12 Thunderbirds. Maci Eckerty moved to the lead-off spot in the lineup and performed well, going 2-4 with a stolen base. Bostyn Rowlett also had multiple hits, going 2-4 with a double, a stolen base, and an RBI. The Blackhawks also got a double from Tynley Kluesner. Ashlyn Bonta and Karson Dalton also had hits. Lola Pantoja reached base twice, once on a walk and once on a hit by pitch. Bonta had two stolen bases, Marissa Marshall stole two bases as well, and Molly Tucker stole one. Tucker and Bonta drove in one run each.. Springs Valley (8-6, 5-1 PLAC) will try to extend its winning streak to five games on Saturday against Clarksville.
