The Springs Valley boys’ golf team bounced back from a disappointing performance against Jasper when they hosted Corydon Central, South Central, and Pike Central on Wednesday. The Blackhawks brought their team score down to 158, 11 strokes lower than what they shot against Jasper, and it was enough to beat Corydon Central’s 161, Pike Central’s 178, and South Central’s 205. Jake Hammond tied for the lowest score of the round, bringing his score back down to 35. Blake Albright and Owen Weisensteiner also improved compared to the previous day, putting up scores of 39 and 40 respectively. Van Leininger had a 44, Landen Noble carded a 48, and Ryker Allen posted a 50. There were only two players outside of Hammond and Albright to break 40, each from Corydon Central. Canaan Stocksdale tied Hammond with a 35 and Hunter Schmitt edged out Albright for third overall with a 37. Springs Valley (37-15) will get a short break before returning to action on Monday against North Harrison, West Washington, Crawford County, and Northeast Dubois at The Donald Ross Course.
