The Springs Valley baseball team held a lead for an inning and a half on Friday, taking a 3-0 advantage into the bottom of the second against Orleans. It wouldn’t last much longer though as a seven-run second inning would propel the Bulldogs to a 10-3 victory. A two-run single from Jonas Hammond and an RBI single from Noah Allstott gave the Blackhawks their early lead, but they’d get just two more hits in the remaining six innings. Allstott picked up a second hit, finishing 2-4. Konner Chase also got a knock. Braylon Kovas and Landon Weeks each reached base via a walk as well. The Blackhawks struck out 10 times as a team. Mavrick Land started the game on the mound for the Blackhawks and picked up the loss. He went 1.2 innings, allowing seven runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks. Weeks pitched the bulk of the game, going 3.1 innings and giving up three runs, all earned, on three hits and three walks. He also struck out three. Tanner Phillips also took the bump against Orleans, pitching a shutout inning while giving up two hits and striking out a pair. Springs Valley (8-16, 2-4 PLAC) has now lost back-to-back games. The Blackhawks will try to bounce back on Saturday against Rock Creek Academy. BULLDOGS 10, BLACKHAWKS 3 Springs Valley (8-16);300;000;0—3;5;4 Orleans (6-15);070;102;0—10;10;2 W: Hall. L: Land.
