Springs Valley Community High School

The Springs Valley girls’ golf team opened its season on Wednesday night, traveling to Christmas Lake Golf Course to take on Forest Park. The trip was a successful one for the Blackhawks as they beat the Rangers 215-248. Mia Cruz was head-and-shoulders above her competition, taking medalist honors with a match-low score of 41. Her closest competition was nine strokes behind. Dallas Hendrix was next-best for Springs Valley, carding a 53, Karmen Hall was one stroke behind her at 54, and Myla Harrison rounded things out with a 62 in her debut round. Springs Valley (1-0) will play next on Saturday, competing in the Washington Invite at Country Oaks Golf Club.
