After a PLAC-championship season, a trio of Springs Valley softball players have been named to the All-Patoka Lake Athletic Conference team. Lily Hickman led the way for the Blackhawks as one of the top performers in all of Class 1A, let alone the conference. The sophomore posted a 12-8 record in the pitching circle, tying for the seventh-most wins in Class 1A, while posting a 2.79 earned run average. She also finished 12th in Class 1A in strikeouts with 152. At the plate she finished 11th in Class 1A with a 1.016 slugging percentage, leading the PLAC in that category as well as in batting average (.484). She was second in the conference in runs batted in (26) and third in on-base percentage (.542) and home runs (eight). Bostyn Rowlett also made the cut. The senior had a slow start to the season, but finished third on the team in batting average (.271) and shined in PLAC competition. Across 14 plate appearances in five conference games, she hit .385 with four runs batted in, two doubles, a triple, and a home run. Her .923 slugging percentage was the best on the team among players who played in more than half of the conference games. Ashlyn Bonta was the Blackhawks’ third honoree. One of four Blackhawks to reach double-digit RBI in 2023, Bonta got hot against conference competition. The senior hit .400 in the PLAC with a double and a triple. She drove in three runs, scored four more, and stole four bases.
